Podiatric Clerkship Program

The Department of Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System offers a two week or one month Clerkship Program in podiatric medicine & surgery.  Hundreds of students have participated in the clerkship program which was established in the 1980's.

Podiatry students work closely with our podiatry attendings and residents, participating in all aspects of patient care.  Experiences during the clerkship include podiatry clinic, podiatric surgery, inpatient rounds, podiatry grand rounds and journal club.  The podiatry clinic boasts large, clean, spacious treatment rooms, each with a computer for computerized medical records and digital x-rays and internet access.  The newly renovated operating room is state-of-the-art.

The clerkship program is located in the New York metropolitan area and is convenient to many places of interest.  Travel times are only 30 minutes to New York City, 45 minutes to the Jersey Shore, 90 minutes to Philadelphia, 4 hours to Boston and 4½ hours to Washington D.C.
